2006 Junior PKUer Summer Camp

Dear Alumni,

 

PUAASC has received from Peking University Education Foundation (PKUEF) the following invitation to the 2006 Junior PKUer Summer Camp for our alumni's children. Please find below the detailed schedule of the Summer Camp, which includes a 9-day-trip to Beida, Shenzhen and Shanghai.

 

The cost for touring, accommodation at Peking University, Shenzhen and Shanghai totals about $650, plane tickets from Beijing to Shenzhen to Shanghai included. Nanhai Art Center will charge $100 for the first 4 days' touring and accommodation. So the total cost of 13 days in China is $750.

 

Please be aware that the 20 vacancies of the Summer Camp reserved for PKU alumni will be taken by customers of Nanhai Art Center if PKU alumni fail to enroll before March. 28th.

The Schedule:

 

I. Nanhai Art Center will take charge of the first four days from July 16th to 19th.

1.July 16th, Check in.

2.July 17th, Camp Opening Ceremony at the Great Hall of the People, visiting Tian'anmen, the Imperial Palace.

3. July 18th, Visiting the Heaven Temple and the Summer Palace, Watching a Play (the Legend of Chinese Martial Art)

4. July 19th, visiting the Great Wall at Juyongguan, visiting the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Emperors, having a party.

5. July 20th, Move into Beida.

 

II. Peking University Education Foundation will organize or help to organize the following 9 days.

 

July 20th, moving to Peking University, accommodated at Shao Yuan Hotel or Zi Yuan Hotel (Both 3-star hotels).

 

July 21st to 22nd, Peking University

1.Touring on campus, visiting university library, museum, and dormitories.

2.Attending lectures about PKU stories and student life from professors and domestic and international students.

3.Visiting Panda research center to watch a documentary movie recorded by Prof. Pan with 13 years' field research of the Great Panda.

4.Visiting two China's! leading university funded hi-tech companies in China, the Founders Group and the Weiming Group.

5.Watching a play at University Centennial Hall or learning Chinese kongfu (Shadow boxing) from a coach.

6. A get-together with PKU teachers and students.

7. Two days accompanied by similar-age kids of PKU alumni in China, visiting their homes.

 

July 23rd to 25th, Shenzhen

1.Visiting PKU Shenzhen Campus.

2.Learning the story of Shenzhen and Shenzhen campus, Visiting Shenzhen Hi-tech Area

3.Visiting Shenzhen Folk Custom Village, enjoy folk songs and dancing.

 

July 26th to 28th, Shanghai

1. Oriental Pearl TV tower (the 460-meter-tall tower is the highest TV tower in Asia and the third highest in the world).

2. Sightseeing Tunnel, Nanjing Road, Yangpu Bridge, Nanpu Bridge, The New Bund (the contemporary world expo of architectures)

3. Shanghai Museum, City Planning Hall, the Youth Palace, Yuyuan Garden.

4.Watching Chinese acrobats.
