Below is an announcement for the 2002 CESASC Convention. This event will be one
of the largest gatherings of Chinese American scientists and engineers
originally coming from the Mainland and Taiwan. PUAASC will have a display
booth there along with other university alumni associations. In addition, the
following alumni will play leading roles in the convention:

2002 CESASC Convention -- 30 & 31 March, at LAX Hilton
With pleasure and honor, we'd like to announce an important event, the 2002
Convention of Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern
California (CESASC), which is to be held on 30 and 31 March 2002 at LAX Hilton.
In the past years, the CESASC has brought international convention annually
with Nobel Laureates, Oscar winners, political and business leaders. The theme
of this year's convention is: Asia + America Adventure. This year we are also
pooling together a two-day conference (30 and 31 March) composing of three
sessions which will cover the following general subjects: 1) higher education &
science, 2) the WTO and global economy, 3) the creativity in two cultures, the
East and West, 4) Transportation, 5) IT and Communications, 6) Semiconductor
Industry. This year, we are honored to invite prominent scientists, scholars,
political and business leaders from the U.S., Mainland China and Taiwan. To
name a few, our honorable guest speakers include Dr. Prigogine, a Nobel
laureate, Dr. Richard Baum, Director of UCLA Center for Chinese Studies,
President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Mayor of Wuhan, China.

There are three types of tickets: one for Grand Dinner Banquet and other two
for two luncheons. In both dinner banquet and luncheons, there will be keynote
addresses delivered by distinguished speakers. In particular, in the Grand
Dinner Banquet on 30 March, a poetic musical will be presented, starring with
world famous actress Lisa Lu.
Admission: $15 / person; Lunch banquet: $25 /person; dinner banquet: $65 /
person. Admissions of all the sessions are free to students. For ticket selling
