We are very pleased to announce that the 2006 annual convention of Peking University Alumni Association of Southern California (PUAASC) and the fund raising banquet of Peking University Education Foundation (PKUEF) will be held in the Pacific Palms Conference Resort in Los Angeles on October 8th.

 

This year's convention will be featured with the keynote speeches from Peking University presidents Mr. Zhihong Xu and Mr. Wen Hai, and the founder of Linksys, Mr. Victor Tsao. The speeches will be followed by a banquet, performances of professional artists, and a dance party. Another important feature of this convention is that we will use this convention as an occasion to promote the Peking University Education Foundation (http://www.pkuf.org). Profit of ticket sales and sponsorships will go to the foundation. As a brief introduction, PUAASC (http://www.pku.org ) was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1985. Currently it has close to 600 registered members. The primary objectives of PUAASC are to strengthen connections among Peking University alumni residing in Southern California; to promote the welfare of Peking University (PKU) and to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with Chinese communities, Asian communities, and all other ethnic communities in Southern California. The PKUEF (USA) was established in 2001 as a California based nonprofit corporation. The mission and purpose of PKUEF (USA) are to strengthen ties between PKU and North America, raise funds from alumni and friends to advance PKU's research and teaching, and improve the communication and cooperation between North American regions and PKU.
