Event: Barbecue Party

 

Time: Sunday (July 18)

 

Place: Whittier Narrows Recreation Area (near the intersection between I-60

and Highway 19)

 

Details:

The hiking club is going to host a barbecue party this Sunday, July 18th, in

the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area. The 1,400-acre park is located 15 miles

east of USC. Inside the park, you can find three large lakes and various

facilities for recreational activities, including fishing, hiking, biking,

soccer, archery, and even sports shooting. It is an ideal place to relax and

enjoy the California sunshine without worrying about getting tanned, as there

are plenty trees inside the park.

 

The barbecue party will start around 10:00am and end around 4:00pm. The

driving direction from USC is to follow I-10 east for 4 miles, then I-60

east for 10 miles, exit on Highway 19/Rosemead Blvd, go south along Rosemead

for 0.1 mile. The parking lot is on the left side of the road (parking is

free). You can get the destination map at maps.yahoo.com with the address

"990 Rosemead Blvd, S El Monte, CA 91733". The party will be held between

the Center Lake and Legg Lake inside the park (as shown in the yahoo map).

For those who want to go together from USC, we will gather at 2671 Magnolia

Ave and depart at 9:30am.

by Saturday 3:00pm for reservation. In the email, please include your name,

phone number, and if you need carpool or can provide carpool seats for other

people. All raw materials including beef, meat, corn, drinks, etc, will be

prepared by the organizer, but the cost for the party will be shared among

participants (around $8 per person). If you have any question, you can
