Dear alumni,
We are pleased to announce an upcoming seminar on how to file tax return forms
in the U.S. As you may know, April 15th is the deadline for it. Per the request
of many of our alumni, we have put together a seminar to give you advice on how
to file your tax forms in your best interests. You are welcome to bring your
family members, and are welcome to spread this news to your friends.
The topics of the seminar include:
- Filing tax forms as non-residents (for people who have been in the States for
LESS than five years)
- Filing tax forms as residents (for people who have been in the States for
MORE than five years)
- Filing tax forms as self-employed small businesses owners
- General discussion on taxation systems of China and the U.S.
We are honored to have Prof. Richard Koo as the keynote speaker for this event.
He is a guest professor at Peking University; the senior advisor of PUAASC;
Managing Partner of Koo, Chow & Company LLP. CPA?; CEO of K. C. Consulting
International Inc.; and President of Sino-American Institute of Human Resources.
Prof. Koo worked for one of the top six accounting firms in the U.S. for a long
time before he founded the Koo, Chow & Company LLP. CPA? to serve the general
public around 20 years ago. Prof. Koo has also served on the executive
committees on many organizations. He is appointed accounting specialist for the
United Nations, and consultant for tax reform of China. Recently, he is also
invited to join the tax specialist group of the Bush administration.
In addition to Prof. Koo, we have also invited several other tax professionals
to cover specific topics and answer your questions, including Ms. HAO Lan, a
supporting wife of one of our alumni. Information about those speakers will be
provided to you via e-mail later.
The seminar will be held in the afternoon of March 31 (Sunday) at 2-5pm. We are
in the process of securing a place at either USC or UCLA. We will keep you
posted.
Snacks and water will be provided at the event. For Beida alumni and their
family members, the admission fee is $2/person and for all other people it is
$4/person.
Bring your questions to the seminar and we will have answers for you!
Come and join us! It is also a great networking opportunity.
Should you have other questions, please contact Connie Yuan at yuyuan@usc.edu.
If you would like to RSVP, please email Lihong Yang at lihongya@usc.edu.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
