Dear alumni,
This message is a light-hearted one.
The snow condition in southern California hasn't been so good for many years.
If you're wondering what to do for the coming weekend, here is an option: go
skiing!
According to our board member and skiing-enthusiast Li Jun, the closest ski
area is in Mountain High Resort (http://www.mthigh.com/). We thus plan to
organize a group skiing session there on the coming Saturday (March 10th).
If you have no skiing experience, no problem! For only $39 you can get a
discounted beginner package, which includes a lift ticket for the whole day,
the rental of ski gears, and a two-hour lesson. If you are experienced, you can
try blue or black or even double-black lines (or help others learn skiing). Li
Jun will be the chief organizer of this event and he'll feed you more details
later.
The snowing season will be over soon. So, if you want to learn skiing now
(instead of 10 months later or never) or just want to have some
never-experienced fun, contact our sporty Li Jun at lijun@cs.ucla.edu. In your
response, please include the following info:
your name, your address, phone number , email address, and most importantly,
your skiing-level (advanced/intermediate/beginner) and if beginner, whether
you need a beginner package. Please respond to him no later than the noon of
this Wednesday (March 7th).
The follow-up information will be sent to you if you respond, and we reserve
the right to limit the number of people for this skiing event. As always,
Please take necessary precautions in advance as for any outdoor event. PUAASC
Will not assume any responsibility for any cost or any risk which may occur
during this event.
Best regards,
PUAASC
