Madam Wu Chun-Yan (吴春燕), a famous Chinese National First-Class (国家一级演员) folk singer from Beijing and student of Jin Tie-Lin, teacher of world renowned Chinese folk singers such as Li Gu-Yi, Peng Li-Yuan and Song Zu-Ying, will come Los Angeles to perform at Dolby Theater (f.k.a. Kodak Theater) and to bring the Chinese vocal art to the audience of Southern California. “Chunyan” in Chinese means “spring swallows”, which is a symbol of good news and good luck. As a singer from Beijing, she carries the message of friendship and best wishes from the people of Beijing to the people of America. She believes that music is beyond borders. Her dream is to communicate with people in different parts of the world with her beautiful voice and songs.

Madam Wu Chun-Yan is currently a National First-Class Artist of China and the Head of the Opera Troupe of Beijing Song and Dance Theater (北京歌舞剧院歌剧团). She participated in numerous concerts hosted by central and local TV stations in China and in many diplomatic missions of the Culture Department of the Beijing Municipal Government for cultural exchange in many Asian and European countries. Madam Wu is a student of Professor Jin Tie-Lin, the best vocal teacher in China. Professor Jin’s students include Madam Peng Li-Yuan, the current first lady of China.
The Concert is co-produced by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Beijing Performance Art Group (BJPAG) for the purpose of cultural exchange. BJPAG is the flag ship of the cultural & entertainment industry of the City of Beijing directly owned by the Beijing municipal government.
